Storyboard / Print Campaign

Pitch the chaos first, then land it in the frame.

This campaign is built around absurd Skittles-style humor, presented first as an eight-frame storyboard sequence and then resolved into a final print execution that captures the same weird, candy-fueled energy.

Creative Setup

Start with the bizarre narrative beat, then show how the same world can collapse into a single finished ad.

Concept

Use escalating absurdity to make the product payoff feel funnier and more memorable.

Skittles works best when the ad world feels a little unhinged. The idea here is to build that weirdness frame by frame, letting the storyboard carry the joke before the final print distills the same energy into one still image.

Brief

Create a storyboard concept for a new Skittles spot, then develop a companion print execution that lives in the same comedic universe.

Insight

Unexpected humor sticks when the audience feels like the ad world is committed to the bit all the way through.

Idea

Deliver a bizarre, flavor-driven story that escalates frame by frame, then pay it off with a final print piece that feels like a still from the same madness.

Storyboard Sequence

Eight frames that build the tone, pace, and comic logic of the spot before the campaign lands in print.

The storyboard section is laid out like a pitch board so the progression reads quickly, but each frame can still be opened and inspected on its own.

01 Skittles storyboard frame 1

Establishing shot of the big ramp. A man stands at the very top with a skateboard, looking out to what is ahead.

02 Skittles storyboard frame 2

Close up on the man. He’s very nervous and does not think he can face the ramp.

03 Skittles storyboard frame 3

His friend appears next to him, annoyed by the hesitation. “Maaaannnn, just eat a Skittle.” He hands him the thing he needs for this moment.

04 Skittles storyboard frame 4

He takes the Skittle and hesitantly eats it. A surge of confidence falls over him.

05 Skittles storyboard frame 5

Same shot as the establishing, but now he is ready to face the ramp. Because of the Skittle, the ramp has turned rainbow and there is now a rainbow in the sky.

06 Skittles storyboard frame 6

A moving shot of the man going down the ramp flawlessly and confidently. He then flies off the other end.

07 Skittles storyboard frame 7

Still shot of the man flying across the frame with a rainbow behind him.

08 Skittles storyboard frame 8

The money shot. Skittles bag in the middle with a pile of Skittles behind it. Text flies in: “FACE THE RAINBOW.” “TASTE THE RAINBOW.” A deep VO reads the same lines.

Print Finish

The final print piece captures the same offbeat Skittles logic in one frozen payoff image.

After the storyboard carries the escalation, the print ad gives the campaign a single polished frame that can stand on its own while still feeling tied to the film idea.
